International Women's Day(IWD): Women In Product

I hope you are doing okay.

Happy International Women's Day!

To celebrate this day, I will be appreciating some of the women that have built and are building amazing product management careers. These are a few of the women that inspire the product management field. 


1. Layo Ogunbanwo: She is the VP of Product at Piggyvest and a Mentor at Google For Startups Accelerator Africa.

Layo has over ten years of experience in product management, marketing, and growth in the US and Africa. She is passionate about driving inclusion for women, building, launching, and driving the adoption of products. Before Piggyvest, Layo has worked at Axxes, Austin College, and Standard Charted Bank. She has also volunteered at places like the Junior League of Dallas, Dallas Regional Chamber, and Cancer Support Community North Texas.

2. Seun Runsewe: Seun Runsewe is a Senior Product Manager at Africa’s newest unicorn, Chipper Cash, which is now worth $2 billion. She built and beta-launched Switch by Sterling Bank, a multi-currency digital bank, making her the youngest banking CEO in Africa. Before Chipper Cash, Seun was Vice President of Growth at Softcom, 


3. Oluwatobi Otokiti: Tobis is currently the Lead Product Manager at Flutterwave. Tobi is a 2022 award winner of the US TechWomen initiative sponsored by the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. 

She is recognised as one of the top 10 female product management leaders revolutionising Africa's tech space. She is a product mentor at Google launchpad. With her over 10 years of work experience, Tobi has a track record of delivering innovative technology products for Africa, the US, Europe and emerging markets. Her work experience spans building financial and EduTech services technology products. She's worked in 3 unicorns (Flutterwave, Andela and Interswitch) and this has positioned her as a strong product leader.



4. Gloria Ojukwu: Gloria is a technical data-driven Product Strategist, Project Manager, UX researcher, writer, and Engineer who loves to solve problems with Technology. She has helped organizations bring their products to life by walking through with them from Product ideation phases to Launch through a user-centred and agile approach and also translating design to code. 

Gloria has experience in IT, SportsTech, EduTech, E-entertainment, E-commerce, and HealthTech industries and has managed distributed teams across the USA and Nigeria where she has helped organizations bring both their Saas and non-Saas products from ideation to life. 



5. Ronke Majekodunmi: She is a Top Instructor & Director of PM, and also a former senior PM at PayPal. Ronke Majekodunmi has been in the world of Product Management for years now. 

Curating products that help bring a company’s vision to life is what she loves to do. Throughout the years, she has led successful teams that develop outstanding, customer-centric products at companies including PayPal.

She is currently working at Promevo as their Director of Products.


6. Joy Eneghalu: is a skilled product manager with 7 years of experience in the industry. She has a strong background in both technical and business aspects of product development, with a focus on driving growth and revenue.

Joy transitioned from the communication space to the product management space. In her role as a product manager, she gained a deep understanding of the development process and the technology behind products, product strategy, road mapping, and go-to-market planning.

Throughout her career, Joy has successfully launched several products, each with its unique set of challenges.


She has been featured on platforms like TechEconomy, TechCabal, Social Media Week Accra, Presidential Hustle UK, Bella Naija, She Leads Africa, Bella Naija, Leading Ladies Africa, Vanguard News, National Day, Sun News, Guardian, SME360, Classic FM, Africa Magic Igbo and so much more.


She is the founder of More Techies, a startup that develops African no-code talents in tech and provides companies with access to a high-skilled resource pool. Her startup, More Techies, was recognized as one of the global Edtech companies to look out for in the UK and also won the Storylab Project 2022 by Cardiff University, UK.



I hope these women inspire you the way they have inspired me.
